'Pagne tissé' is a handcrafted African fabric full of history. A pagne - fabric - as they say in West Africa, whose work has been passed down from generation to generation. The Ndiago or Mandjack pagne, used during ceremonies, is an integral part of the life of some communities. During weddings, it is used to cover the bride. On the day of baptism, the newborn is wrapped in it by the grandmother's hands. For each loom, at least four people work together. One spreads the thread on the loom, another helps to pass the comb, another helps to pass the shuttles or the spoke. This work allows a pagne to be made in 48 hours.
Suitable for use as a runner, bed base, on the sofa or to make cushions or other accessories of your choice.
