Mam Gueye
A very talented artist part of the Gueye family that for several generations has been creating works of painting on Senegalese glass, La peinture sous verre (« suweer » in Wolof). an art of great tradition that since the opening @likeuafrica has proposed in the form of trays or paintings representing the theme of three or two women. From the front, often from behind, to enhance the details, from hairstyles to jewelry, from fabrics to turbans. A way to make femininity speak, which here more than ever I see moving in the gestures of simple everyday life. The paintings are in glass, hand painted in every detail, mounted on an aluminum structure.
