LikeUafrica is a small African shop in Milan, inspired by the boutiques in Dakar and, to some extent, Cotonou, which I frequented during my years living in both countries. Drawn to the vibrant colors and unique energy, I was captivated by every object, be it wax fabric, African textiles, or African jewelry with enchanting patterns. We offer traditional or revisited products, modern ethnic clothing made with fabrics steeped in history, and accessories designed by young creatives who draw inspiration from the past but look to the future. There are many references to everyday life, with a popular way of expressing oneself through images, colors, customs, and wonderful disharmonies. This extraordinary mix guided me in the direction of my project of returning to Europe.

 

In addition to Senegal and Benin, Mali and Cameroon are countries strongly represented in our African store, thanks to their distinctive taste and traditions. We offer a blend of African crafts, fashion, and small designer furniture, selected with Italian-educated eyes, enriched by African experience and its captivating aesthetic. It was our contact with extraordinary African designers, tailors, and artisans that gave birth to this project, which continues to inspire new ideas and exciting discoveries!
